The work explores our relationship to the sublime, through the religious order of the cross and the body facing technology. A stock image of an eye reflecting a ring light references the body; both the viewer and subject. The body in this speculation is not a particular body, but rather a replacable sign in a world of perfomative relations; afflicted with desire to perform for the eye it is facing: the camera.
The crosses’ motif forms a collage of fragmented meaning, playing with consipracy-esque correlation between digital symbols associated with video content and the religious order of life: birth, life, death and ascension.
