This visual research project captures moments in which individuals attempt to take control over the digital landscape on Street View by uploading their own footage to the map, often in areas of digital deserts or conflict which are not documented by Google themselves. The strange enmeshment of the captors bodies with the landscape that occurs is a developing focus of this project that has been ongoing for several years. There is a sense that attempts of autonmously and ruggedly representing landscape as imagery is incompatible with the streamlined technology of Google camera vans that generally capture expansive footage.
